April Fools’ Day (also known as International Trust Issues Day) is traditionally the most awful day of the year IRL. Dads still think rubber snakes are believable, companies come up with ridiculous fake products and it marks the date when Marvin Gaye was shot and killed by his father in 1984.
On the internet though, there’s still a lot of fun to be had. We scoured social media to find the most funny, ridiculous, and poorly executed April Fools’ stuff.
Rustie gets his lame holidays mixed up:
Star Wars is cool, May the 4th is not because puns are lame.
Open Mike Eagle plays it safe:
They can get you through the cybernet, Mike!
Beliebers are weird:
This looks shopped. We can tell from some of the pixels and from seeing quite a few shops in our time. That, and you spelt The Weeknd wrong.
Mr T is not pitying any fools today:
I pity the April Fool, etc. etc.
Kim K is releasing debut album:
We actually really want to hear ‘All Day II (feat. Kanye, Skepta)’.
FlyLo and DOOM collab for new album:
Grimes forgot it was April Fools’ Day, actually is going on tour with Lana Del Rey:
Times like these, we hate living in England.
Ryan Hemsworth is cancelling his Coachella shows to concentrate on his AFI cover band:
“With just a look they shook, and heavens bowed before him.” They clearly had Hemmy da God in mind with these lyrics.
Twin Peaks star Kyle McLachlan kills his own prank:
“You know this is, excuse me, a damn fine cup of tea.” … Nope, doesn’t have the same ring to it.
DEHH try to convince everyone that Myke C-Town is leaving:
It’s like saying one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is dead… DEHH would never be the same, so it can’t be true!
Noah and the Whale are splitting up:
Noah and the Whale, no one cares about your April Fools’ Day splitting up pran- oh wait, they’re actually splitting up.
It wouldn’t be an internet list without the opportunity to waste a large amount of time watching easily digestible videos, so here is Funny Or Die’s April Fools’ joke – a new app called Dips that is essentially Vine, but 1.5 seconds instead of 6. Hilarious internet-age satire, and there’s heaps of musicians, celebrities and the like with their own ‘Dips’. Our personal favourites are Tony Hawk squealing “I’m in a taxi with my skateboard!” and Hannibal Buress screaming incoherently. Watch them below, and follow this link to see all the videos.
Happy time wasting!
