The annual Music Of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards took place at Leeds arena on Wednesday 4th November, featuring a live performance from British singer-songwriter FKA Twigs.
London-based duo Krept and Konan won two awards for ‘best hip-hop act’ and ‘best album’ (for their debut Long Way Home.) Drake’s If You’re Reading This, It’s Too Late won ‘best international album’, and Skepta won ‘best song’ for his hit ‘Shutdown’.
FKA Twigs, who herself won an award for ‘best video’ told BBC Newsbeat “I don’t think anyone has any idea about how much I put into what I do from storyboards to working with my stylists, to writing the songs and to being involved in the production… It’s my world and when someone says ‘well done’ for it, it just feels like it’s all worth it.”
You can see her performance featuring the songs ‘Figure 8’ and ‘In Time’ at the event below, and see the full list of award winners at http://www.mobo.com/winners/2015.
