The Last Shadow Puppets, featuring Arctic Monkeys’ frontman Alex Turner and Miles Kane, have “finished” work on their second album, according to their drummer and producer James Ford.
This will be their follow-up album to 2008 debut ‘The Age Of The Understatement’.
Simian Mobile Disco confirmed the rumours in an interview with Chilean music site Rock & Pop, where he said “This year, I’ve just done a Last Shadow Puppets record, which is the guy from Arctic Monkeys and Miles”
He added: “So we did the follow-up album to that. That’s the last thing I did. “ He continued to confirm the album is finished and “will be out next year sometime”.
Speaking about his work with Kane, Turner said: “It’s something we’d both love to do at some point but I don’t know what that point is. I certainly don’t think it’s tomorrow. Miles is doing his thing and that’s going great. It’s like he’s become whole. Although he always was a superstar, wasn’t he?”
Turner then added: “It’s definitely something that’s on the cards in the future. Or something else – it doesn’t have to be the Shadow Puppets.”
