New Order have released a statement following reports ex-member of the band is suing them for ‘many millions’ over a royals dispute.

It emerged yesterday (November 30) that Hook will be filing for suit against “former friends” Bernard Sumner and Gillian Morris, accusing them of setting up a new company without him to handle the band’s income after he left the group. Hook claims to be owed up to £2.3 million.

New Order have issued a statement saying: “Obviously the band are disappointed that Peter is pursuing this claim in this particular way. Peter still, for instance, receives his full share of all back catalogue royalties.”

They added: We’re getting on with life and concentrating on touring and promoting our new album.”
