After cancelling New York gig due to Storm Jonas, Bruce Springsteen posts free live gig online.
The download is a gesture to fans after a Tri-State weather ban and safety concerns forced Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band to pull the gig last night (Jan 24).
Springsteen announced via his Facebook page that the download was available for the next two days, before MP3s and CDs and higher fidelity formats go on sale Wednesday. Still in early days of The River Tour, the recording comes from the second date at Chicago’s United Center on January 19.
The second date at Madison Square Garden is still scheduled to go ahead on January 27. A new date has not yet been set for the cancelled show.
Springsteen performed a solo cover of The Eagles’ ‘Take It Easy’ to pay tribute to Glenn Frey who was revealed to have passed away the day before the show.
