A Seat At The Table (released 30th September) sold 72,000 copies to give Solange her first No.1 album on the Billboard Charts. Bon Iver’s 22, A Million just missed out, scoring the number 2 spot.

This achievement marks a big year for Solange, whose first full-length album since 2008’s Sol-Angel And The Hadley St Dreams features 21 songs, with guest cameos from the likes of Kelly Rowland and Lil Wayne. Solange herself describes the album as “a project on identity, empowerment, independence, grief and healing”.
