Home Town: Leeds
For Fans Of: Beach Baby, Trudy & The Romance and Fizzy Blood.
Party Hardly are a Leeds based indie-rock outfit making grungy surf pop from their bedrooms. Originating as an audio-only project with guitarist and vocalist Tom Barr, the group threw off their old moniker just over a year ago and morphed into their current iteration of a full live band.
Since then, they’ve played with the likes of Diet Cig, Bruising, INHEAVEN, Yowl and TRASH, as well as picked up a slot on the DIY Neu! stage at Live at Leeds. New single ‘Friendly Feeling’ was written, like most of their music, in a bedroom- “There’s an element of humour to this track, we tried not to take ourselves too seriously, it’s fun to play love and goes down well, but it’s also a lot different to the stuff we’re recording at the moment so we’re excited to get more stuff released soon”
Lackadaisical, fuzzy, surf-pop from Leeds- what more could you want?
‘Friendly Feeling’ is out today (25 November), listen below.
