Vocalist of Shields – Joe Edwards has started his own acoustic project under the name JW Edwards, and it’s nothing like you’d expect. Hearkened Hands is JW Edward’s first official release on March 1st, with pre-orders available on iTunes now!

Having already freed a video for ‘Everyday’, Edwards teases us with his bittersweet lullabies that are soothing in all the right places. Polar to his current band, the young artist touches on the folky side of alternative rock, also dabbling in electric ambience.

Now don’t be fooled into thinking this is just your typical acoustic side project. JW Edwards’ collection of Irish Folk sounds, taking a great influence from Sufjan Stevens and Siegfried Sassoon, the artist harbours his poetic talent into contemporary melodies.

The Lo-Fi recording of this EP is purposely inscribed to capture the emotive narratives of a dream state, searching for an out of reached loved one, the way people emotionally communicate, and friendship.

Previously, the London artist had been playing gigs all across Brixton, Camden and Brick Lane. If you missed these shows, then you can also can catch him on his tour with Joe MeCorriston and the EP launch show March 13th at The Monarch, London.
